Tombeau Lxv Chest Of Drawers In Cherry Wood. La Rochelle.
LXV-style Rochelaise chest of drawers in cherry wood
It is topped with a tabletop made of two cherry wood planks joined by two mitered side rails.
It features three long drawers, whose handles and openings are original.
The curved side panels, both in plan and elevation, are adorned with delicate molding featuring the scrollwork typical of many Rochelaise chests of drawers.
The lower crossbars, with their elaborate scrollwork, are also adorned with volutes; they connect the four legs, which feature generous original volutes.
On the front crossbar, a central medallion with similar decoration echoes the motifs found on many La Rochelle chests of drawers.
The legs are molded with deep scrolls.
