A beautiful stepped chest of drawers with five drawers in three rows without crossbars; the first row is shorter and features more understated inlay than the second and third rows, which are decorated with four butterfly-wing-shaped leaves framed by double Greek-style fillets; it rests on four curved legs beneath front uprights with faux fluting, inlaid with rectangular motifs, and gendarme-hat motifs at the back; the sides are veneered with two “heart-shaped” open leaves and framed by fillets with recessed corners.




A beautiful three-tiered chest of drawers with five drawers per tier and no crossbars, inlaid with four rosewood leaves open like butterfly wings and framed by Greek-style fillets; the side panels are simpler; the front stiles feature faux fluting, and the chest rests on four curved legs. The front and sides protrude from the stiles.
Covered with its restored red Flemish marble, it retains and is fitted with its lovely bronze fittings; the key is missing.
Jean Lapie’s stamp, which is barely legible, is stamped on the left crossbar.
