Japanese porcelain vase with cover. Hand-painted and gilded decoration. Depicts several wise old men and a young acolyte. Made in the style of the Satsuma workshops, the garments are richly decorated with dense geometric and floral motifs. The figures are set against a background of stylized bamboo.
