Leather Box, Probably From Spain, 18th Century

A rare and elegant 18th-century casket, presumably of Spanish manufacture, crafted from finely embossed leather and decorated with geometric and floral motifs in relief, in the typical style of Iberian craftsmanship of the period.

The piece retains its original charm and features a lovely antique patina that has developed over the centuries. The interior and bottom are lined with velvet, a detail that underscores its function as a container for storing precious objects, documents, or personal effects.

The casket is in good overall condition considering its age. It shows normal wear, abrasions, and signs of aging that attest to its authenticity. On the back, several metal reinforcements are visible, applied at a later date for conservation purposes.

An object of great collectible and decorative appeal, ideal for enriching a collection of antique art, historical curiosities, or period furnishings.
