Lacquered And Painted Genoese Louis XV Cantilever Table – Mid-18th Century
An elegant Genoese corner cabinet from the Louis XV period, crafted in the mid-18th century. The piece is finely lacquered and hand-painted with delicate floral motifs and rich rocaille scrollwork, typical of the refined Ligurian craftsmanship of the 18th century.
The undulating, sinuous form, combined with the slender arched legs and rich polychrome decoration, lends the piece remarkable elegance and a strong decorative impact. Particularly noteworthy is the painterly quality of the decorations, executed in the style of the period.
The corner cabinet is in generally good condition for its age. There is wear, missing parts, and imperfections due to the passage of time; the piece requires conservative restoration aimed at further enhancing its authenticity and historical charm.
