Abstract Sculpture By Fred Laureyns (belgium / France 1960)
Artist: Joshu Genku
Abstract white marble sculpture by Fred Laureyns (Born 1960 Belgium). This abstract and expressive sculpture combines strong lines with soft fluid shapes, which depicts the contrast between tenderness and intimacy. Of Flemish origin, Fred travels according to the course of his experiences, mainly between Belgium and Brettagne, where he works on creating his pieces in his own studio. He mainly works with clay, wood, stone, iron and bronze, combining different techniques according to the inspiration of the moment, while incorporating elements of Nature. He devotes hisself to an art often described as “Zen”, inspired by ancient cultures, mythology, the sources of simple living, and their rituals. Trusting in Life and in Humanity, he strives, day after day, to detach hisself from the worries of everyday life and to draw strength and inspiration from these archetypes of Humanity. His creations bear the traces of this quest.
