Artist: Paul Baetemen

Marble sculpture by Paul Baeteman
Abstract artwork on a pedestal, made of solid marble
The undulating, organic forms of the pink marble contrast beautifully with the sleek, geometric black marble pedestal, a hallmark of Baeteman’s late-period modernist and abstract work
Two high-quality marbles were used: Rosa Portugal marble and Nero Marquina marble
Signed on the underside of the pink marble
Black base measuring 10 cm deep and wide, and 8 cm high
The sculpture measures 8 cm deep, 9 cm wide, and 21 cm tall
Total height: 29 cm
Total weight: 3.7 kg
Paul Baeteman (1933–2022) was renowned for combining undulating lines and organic forms with the pure texture of natural stone
In very good vintage condition, showing only very slight signs of wear
