Persian Brass Ewer
A brass ewer with a brown patina, made in Iran, Qajar dinasty, in the 19th century. It features a rich engraved decoration covering its entire surface, with numerous medallions populated by figures (deities, kings, animals, etc.) and a foot decorated with stylized floral motifs. This type of ewer, known as “Aftafa”, was generally used for ablutions before religious ceremonies.
