This large silver cross brooch is adorned with micromosaics in red and blue tones with Christian symbolism: chrism, alpha omega, Mary's lily, grapes and olive branches.
The branch tips end in lozenges and the round center is inscribed in a pointed square.
Fully functional hinged brooch system and C-clasp, which is an early adaptation for a pendant with an absent bezel.
Unpunched silver, touchstone tested.
