Boin Taburet - Pair Of Solid Silver Terrines 19th Century
The decoration, remarkably understated, featuresengraved lines, interlaced friezes, and laurel leaves, as well as an engravedmonogram on the front. The pine cone finial, resting on a terrace of acanthusleaves, is the principal ornament of the set and reinforces its neoclassicalcharacter.
The removable inner lining is made of aluminum.Although aluminum is a common metal today, in the 19th century it was a rareand expensive material, used in luxury silverware for its lightness andhygienic properties.
This pair of terrines is a fine example of late19th-century French silverware, combining functionality, quality craftsmanship, and decorative elegance.
