This fine Biedermeier portrait of a young woman was painted in 1847 by Austrian portraitist, draughtsman and photographer Carl Dietrich (1821 or 1823 - 1888).
Austrian painter, draughtsman and photographer, he lived and worked in Graz until 1865. From that year onwards, he settled in Vienna and worked as a draughtsman, creating Biedermeier-style portraits for the nobility.
His works are held at the LM Joanneum Museum in Graz and at the New St. Leonhard Gallery.
