Lot Of 5 Framed Lithographs Of Roses After Pierre-joseph Redouté
Very fine set of five framed prints depicting roses, after Pierre-Joseph Redouté, famous French botanical artist renowned for his elegant floral studies.
Each print is marked "P. J. Redouté pinx." lower left and "Mourlot lith." lower right, with plate numbers in Roman numerals in the lower corner. These are likely vintage color lithographs after Redouté's original botanical works, probably from the 1930s Mourlot edition.
The roses are delicately colored in shades of pink, red, cream and yellow, accompanied by finely detailed green foliage. They are presented in matching dark green/black and gold frames, offering a beautiful classic French country house style. One of the spines bears an old Bordeaux framer's label, J. Bonnet, Rue Bouffard, Bordeaux, adding to the charm and authenticity of the set.
A superb decorative set, ideal for a bedroom, hallway, living room, conservatory, country house or vintage-inspired gallery wall.
