"hunters And Dog" French School 19th

This mid-19th-century oil on canvas is signed lower left PAIRON. It depicts a hunter and his dog on the edge of a forest. A second hunter can be made out in the distance. The treatment is meticulous. The painting is set off by a beautiful channel frame with spandrels, in wood and stucco gilded with gold leaf. Note the old restoration on the back of the canvas.
