The Conversion Of Saint Paul, Large Bronze Plaque From The 18th Century In High Relief

Important bronze plaque in high relief with medal-colored patina depicting the conversion of Saint Paul.

the story:

In the Acts of the Apostles, Paul's conversion is discussed in three different places, and this experience is much more detailed there than in the epistles. Acts describes the conversion as an event that took place when Paul was on his way to Damascus. Jesus appears to him in the form of a light, and he falls as a result of this vision and becomes blind. Paul is then taken to Damascus, where he is baptized three days later by Ananias, who at the same time restores his sight, Ananias having received God's command to welcome him among the saints. The three accounts of this conversion are found in Acts 9:3-9, 22:5-11 and 26:13-19. The first is recounted by the author of Acts, while the other two are told by Paul, when he was imprisoned in Jerusalem and then Caesarea. Some have thought to detect irreconcilable differences, but the use of Greek grammar puts an end to such disputes.
