A finely modelled French decorative figure depicting a crowned bearded warrior standing with his hands resting on the hilt of a sword. The figure is raised on a circular base.
The subject is probably inspired by Vercingetorix, the Gallic leader who was later celebrated as a French national hero. An unusual example in iron, a material less commonly encountered for decorative figures of this type.
