Rhine wine decanter in Baccarat crystal, richly cut overlay in fir green, Lagny model. Crystal overlay refers to a surface covered with a thin layer of colored crystal which, when cut, reveals the white layer by transparency.
The Lagny service appears in the 1916 Baccarat des Arts de la Table catalog. It is listed under the name Lagny in the 1933 catalogue. Our decanter is a pre-1936 production, and does not bear the crystal maker's signature.
It is one of the crystal maker's finest, most prestigious models: made of strong crystal, it allows the creation of multi-complication cut decorations, always perfectly executed without any offsetting, it is very richly cut, and gives the items in the range exceptional brilliance.
Our decanter is in perfect condition: crystal limpid, no white haze at the bottom, no shine.
