Large Bronze By Henri Vidal(1864-1918):
A pupil of Mathurin MOREAU , a specialist in plaster busts and statues , few bronzes are known of him , hence the rarity and extreme quality of excecution of our specimen , which was exhibited at the 1899 Paris salon .
Henri Vidal, born May 3, 1864 in Charenton-le-Pont[1] and died January 11, 1918 in Le Cannet[2],[3],[4], was a French sculptor.
Biography Cain coming to kill his brother Abel (1896), Paris, Tuileries Gardens.Henri Vidal was a pupil of Mathurin Moreau[5].
Works in public collections- Aix-en-Provence, musée Granet: Le Paysan du Danube.
- Paris, jardin des Tuileries: Caïn venant de tuer son frère Abel, 1896, marble statue, 195 × 90 × 120 cm[3]. The plaster model was exhibited at the 1894 Salon (no 3677)[6].
