Pair of large (28cm) gilt bronze candlesticks from the Empire period. Resting on a circular base 14cm in diameter, finely chased on the periphery with laurel leaves and stripes, with a radiating gadrooned rosette in the center. The baluster-shaped shaft begins with gadroons, then becomes smooth and adorned with chased rings. The binnacles are in the shape of a gadrooned vase, and the bobèches are also finely chased with oblique and micro-row pearls. These candlesticks are made up of eleven bronze elements, to which must be added the threaded steel mounting rod. This is a model by bronze-maker André Antoine Ravrio.
