Emiliano Di Rolo Inlaid Walnut Coffee Table, Mid-19th Century
An elegant coffee table from the Emilia region, most likely from the Rolo area, dating to the mid-19th century. Crafted from walnut and veneered with walnut burl of exceptional quality, it features a refined circular top characterized by a spectacular radial pattern of grain, carefully arranged to create a decorative effect of great elegance. The top is further embellished by thin concentric bands and a delicate inlaid border along the edge, executed with great precision and decorative flair. The finely turned central shaft displays the harmonious and proportioned forms typical of the finest 19th-century Emilian craftsmanship. The shaped tripod base is enriched by refined geometric inlays on the three legs, a detail that attests to the high quality of the piece’s craftsmanship. The piece as a whole stands out for its excellent choice of wood species, the pleasant patina acquired over time, and the balance of its proportions—characteristics that make this coffee table an interesting example of 19th-century Emilian cabinetmaking. In good condition, with normal and slight signs of wear consistent with the object’s age.
