Bruxelles 1778 Pair Of Solid Silver Flambeaux 18th Century Candlesticks
Superb pair of 18th century solid silver torches, the circular base with stave decorated with canals and leafy clasps, the baluster-shaped shaft and binnacle decorated with leafy bouquets.
Brussels town hallmarks, year 1778 hallmark and goldsmith's hallmark marking three nails.
This goldsmith's hallmark is referenced on page 236 of the book "Orfèvrerie au poinçon de Bruxelles" (see photo).
Height: 27 cm. Diameter : 14 cm. Weight of the two torches : 652 gr. Very good condition. Please note a slight crack on one torch (see photos).
