Designed under the direction of Gilbert Poillerat (1902-1988) French decorator and wrought-iron artist. Trained at the Ecole Boulle around 1920, he quickly developed a passion for working with iron. In just a few years, he became one of France's leading wrought-iron artists. An admirer of 17th- and 18th-century art and the Baroque style, he drew inspiration from it while creating highly innovative decorative objects. In the 40's, he imagined a metal mirror with a sun-like appearance: the Chaty Vallauris mirror was born and went on to become a design icon.
