Ghent 1773 , 12 Dessert Spoons And Forks , Jean Denis Bourgeois
Artist: Jean Denis Bourgeois
Rarissime complete set of twelve dessert forks and twelve dessert spoons all dating from 1773.
They bear the hallmarks of the city of Ghent and the hallmark of the famous master silversmith Jean Denis Bourgeois.
The pattern is often described as "au filet violonné" by professionals and is not common at all. Dessert cutlery dating from the Ancien Régime is even less common.
A comtale crown is engraved on the back of each piece. This heraldic engraving probably dates from the second half of the nineteenth century.
The set weighs 830 grams.
