These scissors bear the hallmarks of the famous silversmiths Benjamin Smith II and James Smith III. This prestigious association, based in London and working in close collaboration with the firm of Rundell, Bridge & Rundell (silversmiths to the sovereigns), was active until 1812. The letter-date "Q" confirms manufacture in 1811, making this piece all the more remarkable as it was made just before the end of this historic association.

Excellent preservation. The silver has a beautiful natural patina. The blades are perfectly aligned and in perfect working order.
