Jean Eugène Julien Massé (1856-1950)Post-Impressionist landscape painter born in Meaux (Seine et Marne) in 1856,died in 1950. In 1879, after spending three years with a battalion of chasseurschasseurs à pieds in Algeria, Jean Massé attended the Beaux-Arts school in Amiensthen in Paris in Boulanger's studio. Around 1882, Jean Massé moved toLuzancy and became a pupil of the painter Alexandre Bouché.
