French Louis XV Style Bureau Plat, lacquered wood with chinoiserie decoration and gilt bronze mounts. Paris, second half of the 19th century.

Louis XV style bureau plat, produced during the Napoléon III period, in black-lacquered wood with gilt painted chinoiserie decoration depicting Oriental landscapes with figures, architecture, trees and birds. The mercury-gilt bronze mounts include rocaille corner pieces and finely chased acanthus-leaf sabots. The shaped top, framed in gilt bronze, is covered in crimson red leather; the front features two lateral drawers and a central drawer.

Condition report: Generally good state of preservation, with wear consistent with the age of the piece.
