A carved and giltwood frame of the type known as "francesina", made by a Venetian workshop in the 18th century. Of French derivation, the model was widely adopted and reinterpreted in Venice. The hollow profile is framed by two bands of fine carving, along the outer edge and along the sight edge, enclosing a plain central section. The gilding retains a warm tone, enriched by the patina of age.

Condition report: Good overall condition, with losses to the gilding, small losses to the carving and signs of wear consistent with age.
