Urbain Huchet, born in Rennes on April 28, 1930, and died in Boulogne-Billancourt on December 16, 2014, was a French painter and lithographer. He lived in Pont-Aven from 1960 to 1963 before settling in Boulogne-Billancourt. After studying law and working in the textile industry, Urbain Huchet decided in 1960, as a self-taught artist, to devote himself exclusively to painting.
He then lived for three years in Pont-Aven, painting landscapes, seascapes, animated scenes and portraits of typical characters in which his admiration for Paul Gauguin and Émile Bernard is expressed, before settling in the Paris region in 1963 and travelling to the Middle East and especially to America (Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Caribbean, Texas).
