Joan Busquets i Jané (Barcelona 1874 - 1949)
A set of 6 chairs in walnut, mahogany, Hungarian ash and mother-of-pearl inlays. Various wood inlays featuring carnations (Spanish national flower) on the upper part of the backs.
100 x 42 x 50 cm each.
With workshop metal plate on reverse "Juan Busquets - Ciudad 9 - Barcelona". Various wear due to age. Two slightly damaged on the back. Original tapestry on back.
Provenances:
- Presented by the designer at the VIth Barcelona International Art Exhibition in 1911. They were part of a furniture ensemble that won him a first-class medal. A photo of the stand and model are listed in the Busquets archive. Photos attached (©MDB. Fondo Casa Joan Busquets, Disseny Hub Barcelona, 2026)
- Pre-ordered or acquired during the show by a Barcelona buyer.
