Antique C. Detouche Paris French Brass Carriage Clock Striking Sn 21406 C1880
A genuine antique French repeating carriage clock, dating to the late 19th century, housed in a classic polished brass corniche case with five bevelled glass panels and an attractive oval top viewing window revealing the platform escapement.
The white enamel dial is in good condition, with Roman numerals and an outer Arabic minute track, finished with original blued steel hands.
The clock is fitted with an 8-day spring-driven movement and a repeating strike, sounding the hours and half-hours on a coiled gong with a clear tone.
The backplate is engraved “PARIS” and “HANDS”, with a working fast/slow regulator.
Serial number 25778 is stamped to both the movement and base.
Complete with original swing handle and standing on brass feet.
