This oil on canvas is signed lower right, countersigned and located on the back.
Guy MARANDET was born in Paris in 1917 and died in 2011.
He was a drawing teacher at Paris art schools.
At age 18, at the Mirmande vacation home, he met André LHOTE, who was to become his master.
He exhibited with him at the Salon des Indépendants in 1939.
He went on to exhibit in several countries: Morocco (Casablanca), Argentina (Buenos Aires), Monte-Carlo etc...
In 1981, he was invited to the Taiwan Art Festival.
His work is predominantly cubist, with André Lhote's influence evident in the shapes and colors employed.
As you can see from the photos, there are a few paint chips missing.
This oil painting is on its original canvas and stretcher, presented with a natural wood rod.
