Empire-period gilded bronze clock decorated with Eros playing the harp, resting on a rectangular base richly decorated with foliage, palmettes and amorous attributes in relief.
The subject features winged Eros seated beside a lyre, holding his bow, in a neoclassical spirit characteristic of the First Empire.
The enamelled dial with Roman numerals is signed "Leinert à Paris", testimony to quality Parisian work from the early 19th century.
The set features fine chasing and well-preserved original mercury gilding.
The composition is framed by two finely guilloché decorative columns and rests on four toupee feet.
