Gilded Bronze Table Ringer With Chinese Decor Late 19th Century

Elegant finely chased gilt bronze table bell, resting on threemolded feet. The openwork central part is adorned with a decoration ofcharacters in relief supporting an architectural gallery, inspired by theinspired by the world of chinoiserie, very much in vogue at the end of the 19th century.

Thelid, richly decorated with foliage, is surmounted by a seatedfigure seated under an umbrella, holding a gong, bringing to the ensemble an exotic charm characteristic of the oriental taste of the Napoleon III period.Napoleon III period.
