Vase Rond En Emaux De Longwy , Boule Coloniale , Decor De Panthere , Baghera , Art Deco
"Baghera" ball vase in Longwy enamels, a remarkable contemporary creation inspired by the Manufacture's great Art Deco models.
This elegant spherical shape known as a "colonial ball", originally imagined by Maurice-Paul Chevallier in the early 1930s, is here sublimated by a spectacular animal décor created by C. Didier for Émaux de Longwy.
The vase features a stylized panther in relief evolving in a lush foliage setting, treated in a refined palette of cobalt blue, emerald green and crackled gold.
The cloisonné enamel work, decorated entirely by hand, offers remarkable depth and luminosity.
The richness of the gold craquelures and the contrast of colors give this piece a very elegant decorative presence, in the spirit of the Art Deco revival developed by Longwy in the years 1990-2000.
Very good condition.

History:
Faïenceries et Émaux de Longwy, founded in Lorraine in 1798, enjoyed international renown thanks to their famous cloisonné enamels developed in the late 19th century. Over the years, the factory has collaborated with numerous artists and decorators, blending tradition and modernity. The "vase boule" model, created by Maurice-Paul Chevallier for the 1931 Colonial Exhibition, remains today one of Longwy's most emblematic shapes.
