Son of Salvatore and a pupil of Teodoro Duclère, he specialized in views of Naples, continuing the style of the Posillipo School. He worked in oil, watercolor, and, in his later years, also in tempera, with a free and lively touch. He was particularly active in the foreign market, but also exhibited sporadically at Neapolitan exhibitions: in 1859 he made his debut as a student at the Academy with The Feast of the Lilies of San Paolino in Nola and View of Ischia with Figures, for which he won the silver medal and was purchased by the royal family; in 1877 he presented Ischia (Port and Castle) at the National Exhibition. To the Promotrice he sent Houses at the Marina di Capri (purchased by the Province of Naples) in 1883 and Capri-Marina Piccola and Faraglioni in 1885.
