French engraver Joseph Hunin produced several etchings with assignats banknotes as the motif.
The work criticizes French politics during the French Revolution.
At the time, assignat bills were traded as money and became in part the only means of payment, leading to a major currency crisis that plunged France into misery .
Era: late XVIII th century.
STATUS: sold in uncovered condition , possibly require cleaning , no tears , traces of wetness , some freckling , good condition of paper , note a fold in the center (not very pronounced) .
