Augustin Jacq is a French painter born in Brest in 1936.
He did not initially intend to pursue a career as an artist, but when he discovered painting, he became passionate about it and devoted himself entirely to it.
His almost exclusive subject is Brittany, and particularly Finistère. Boats, the sea, wayside crosses, and the rugged landscapes of the Breton bocage are his favorite subjects.
In April 2001, he dedicated a solo exhibition to Finistère at the Brest City Hall.
