* Born in 1938 in Calvados, Michel Margueray has established himself as one of the most sensitive paintbrushes of contemporary Normandy.
Figurative painter, for decades he has cultivated an art deeply rooted in the observation of reality, which he renders with a rare sincerity and a remarkable mastery of atmospheres. A landscape painter first and foremost, he excels in depicting the changing skies, vibrant lights and colorful harmonies that enliven the shores of Normandy, the ports of Brittany, the landscapes of Provence and the canals of Venice.
His work, nourished by travel and the seasons, is distinguished by a quiet strength: balanced compositions, accurate perspectives, a generous palette and an attentive eye for the life of places. As early as 1974, art critic André Ruellan hailed "one of the finest and most talented paintbrushes in the Lower Normandy region", underlining the personality and sensitivity that permeate each canvas.
An established artist, regularly exhibited in Normandy and beyond, Michel Margueray pursues a painting style in which light remains the guiding thread, revealing the simple, authentic poetry of the landscapes he traverses.
