Young Woman - Glazed Earthenware - Saintonge - 17th Century
Upper element of a green-glazed earthenware jug or fountain, produced by the Saintonge ceramic workshops.
Depicting the bust of a woman, her arms resting on her hips.
She is likely wearing a headdress as well as a cloth draped over her shoulders.
Although only be a fragmentary element, it remains in good overall condition; the head was broken and subsequently restored.
