Cabinet Marquetry Buffet Décor Louis XV Cabinetmaker Companion Miniature
Decorative composition: slightly curved front, panels inlaid with trompe-l'œil cubes, herringbone friezes, light-colored fillets and contrasting frames. The decor evokes the Louis XV / Transition taste revisited in the 19th century, in a miniature and demonstrative version.
Beautiful miniature architecture. The play of veneers creates a lively rhythm, between optical depth, alternating light and dark woods, and the curved lines of the façade. The cube marquetry adds a highly decorative graphic vibrancy, while the gilded bronzes lend relief and nervousness to the whole.
Good overall condition , Wear from use, scratches, minor rubbing, visible marks. Back features simple construction with exposed points and joints, gouge-thinned edge darkening consistent with a master's or school cabinet. Mirror present, functional doors with key, decorative gilded metal fittings.
