Hans August Lassen (b. December 12, 1857, Hadersleben, Duchy of Schleswig; d. 1938, Ratingen, Düsseldorf-Mettmann district) was a German-Danish painter of portraiture, still life and genre from the Düsseldorf School.

Lassen attended the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts from 1881 to 1887. His teachers included Peter Janssen the Elder, Hugo Crola and Heinrich Lauenstein. In the Academy's student registers, he was described as "very gifted". It was also noted that he was forced to support himself. For this reason, he attended classes only irregularly during certain semesters.

He specialized in depicting tavern scenes, wine tastings, gentlemen's gatherings and gambling games; also known is an 1885 oil painting (kneeling, standing portrait) depicting Prince Otto von Bismarck. Until 1910, Lassen lived in Düsseldorf, then Ratingen.
