Meridienne Louis XV , 18th Century

Elegant Méridienne or chaise longue in the Louis XV style, made of finely carved and molded beech, resting on four arched legs characteristic of the rocaille taste of the XVIIIᵉ century.
The moved backrest with asymmetrical decoration harmoniously follows the line of the seat, offering a particularly refined and balanced silhouette.

The structure features remarkable sculptural work in floral and foliate motifs, visible in particular at the connecting dice, the scrolled crosspieces as well as at the top of the back.
The scrolled armrests are highlighted by delicate molded decoration and beautiful upholstery nail trim.

The ensemble is covered in a rich floral upholstery fabric in the spirit of antique Lyonnais silks, in warm tones of beige, ochre, greyish blue and coral, elegantly highlighting the patina of the wood.

The generous, deep seat rests on a wide, independent cushion ensuring excellent comfort.

Very fine craftsmanship, with a stable, sound structure.
The wood has a lovely antique patina with honey and mahogany nuances, revealing the natural grain of the beech.
