The watch is powered by the Manufacture caliber 30CH, a hand-wound column-wheel movement, recognized as one of the great chronograph calibers of the 20th century for its reliability, precision and quality of construction. It incorporates the flyback function, a complication created and developed by Longines in the 1930s to meet the needs of aviation. It enables the chronograph to be instantly reset and restarted with a single press, without having to stop and restart the measurement. Thus, the push-button at the top right allows the chrono to be started, stopped and then restarted, while the one at the bottom allows it to be reset to zero.

Beyond its mechanical qualities, this watch illustrates a pivotal period in watchmaking, when manufactures like Longines were still producing movements entirely designed in-house, before the transition to standardized industrial bases.
