Gérard Hofmann (1917-1965) was initially a painter, working with Fernand Léger in Biot. He then turned to ceramics, joining the Cérenne studio in Vallauris as a decorator. In 1959, he opened his own workshop with his wife Christiane, where together they created utilitarian and decorative pieces.
