Louis XVI Period Porcelain Compotier Bowl Attributed To The Manufacture Du Duc d'Angoulême
Artist: Manufacture Du Duc D'angoulême (attribuée à)
Compotier cup in Paris porcelain, with a very fine polychrome floral decoration enhanced by wolf's teeth in fine gold. Produced in Paris in the 1780's.
Many Parisian factories active under the ancien régime produced this type of floral decoration on a white background. The very high quality of the painted decoration, with flowers depicted "alive" with a sensibility close to that of easel painting, leads us to believe that the Manufacture d'Angoulême is a very likely attribution.
The format is today very well suited to use as a bread basket.
Beautiful collector's item in very good condition, no accidents, brilliant colors and gilding. Small firing cracks, wear to the gilding.
Total height 6cm
Diameter: approx. 22cm
