Case -pistol " Bootleg " & Knife Louvetier - Ii° Empire

Artist: Cusson & Rossignol
This mahogany case contains a pair of BOOTELG type lower percussion pistols by CUSSON & ROSSIGNOL with 46 caliber forced bullets to the pound.
This unusual cassette also contains a large folding "louvetier" knife from the Chatellerault factory circa 1850.
A symmetrical blade with four sides and discreet miter, held open by a trunnion pump system.
Maillechort head bolster with raised imperial eagle motifs and raised palmette tail bolster.
The mother-of-pearl plates bear floral engravings.
Pistols numbered 1 & 2, on the barrels and carcasses, the letter "C" under the barrel.
Round, rifled barrel, understated trunk mechanism, mounted with ring triggers and escapement mechanisms that drive the hammer and let it escape at the end of the stroke.
Round, drop-type stock in smooth ebony.
The mechanisms are in perfect working order.
The case is mounted in the French style on a bed of midnight-blue velvet, containing the pair of pistols, the wolfman's knife, a small copper and brass powder flask with a reserve for bullets and primers, openable by a tab.
A screwdriver completes the case, as well as a turned ebony primer box and a single-cavity round bullet mold, the two on the handle of which serve respectively as a key for the chimneys for one and for the other barrel disassembly key.
