Oil on canvas depicting "green ceramic vase with carnations of different colors"

size 123 x 94 cm
123signed lower right Giorgio Guidi Italian artist born and lived in Livorno (1901/1998) from a child he showed a certain predisposition for drawing, through which he recorded his observations regarding shapes and colors. The artist's art is born from a personal need, spontaneous that starts from his interiority. He is part of the group of artists who grew up developing their skills as self-taught, living a bit on the margins, but this should not be seen as something reductive. He was able to give free rein to his interiority, building the shapes and figures through rapid brushstrokes, blurring the contours of the subjects represented. The color is always bright and lively. His painting is spontaneous, free, drawing inspiration from everyday life. Through his canvases he is able to immerse the observer in a space that seems to take him into an almost dreamlike dimension, the result of his brush strokes, his colours, the diffused brightness, which remains linked to contexts and spaces that are those of the reality known and recognisable by all, which appears here in an unexpected dimension.
