Paul Victor Maes, 1924-2023, Belgian painter and ceramist of landscapes, interiors, church interiors, beguinages, portraits and still lifes, born in Leuven. He studied with Victor Van Beylen and Jacques Charlier at the Académie de Louvain. He began painting in 1946, evolving from a gentle impressionism in his still lifes and especially in his interiors to a post-impressionism that was moderate at first, then more powerful in his landscapes from 1956 onwards. Works in the Louvain Museum and Saint-Pierre Church. Artist listed at Bénézit, Arto and Piron. Coté Artprice, Artnet, Akoun, etc...
