Sandstone Buddha or Bodhisattva head. The figure wears a large, richly ornamented headdress. The face is marked by large eyebrows, almond-shaped eyes and a mouth sporting a moustache (missing in this area). He wears large earrings.
Ancient Indian work, probably from the Mathura region on the borders of Rajasthan.
