The young girl is depicted half-length, with part of her low-cut blue and white dress visible, closed in the center by a flower. Her face and gaze are turned to the side, with great attention to detail in the rendering of the red mouth and eyes. The painting is attributed to an anonymous Italian painter active around the mid-19th century.
