Important Display Case In Brass And Curved Glass Maison E. Langlois, Paris - Circa 1920

Important brass and curved glass display case
Maison E. Langlois, Paris - Circa 1920

Rare and elegant Art Deco period display case in old patina brass, entirely glazed, featuring a framed flat front and remarkable curved sides in domed glass, typical of the high-quality designs intended for Parisian shops at the beginning of the 20th century.

This room, with its sober yet refined lines, is distinguished by its total transparency, offering an ideal showcase for the objects on display. It is equipped with several adjustable glass shelves resting on their original racks, allowing for a modular and elegant presentation.

The display case bears its original riveted plaque:
"Étalages & Vitrines - E. Langlois - Ingénieur A & M - Breveté S.G.D.G - 81 rue des Archives, Paris", the signature of a Parisian manufacturer specializing in store fittings, renowned for the quality of its creations.
The presence of the manufacturing hallmark, in the form of a small square, reinforces the authenticity of the set.

The slightly curved design of the base and domed sides gives this display case a soft, enveloping visual presence, while retaining great lightness thanks to the slimness of its brass structure.

The metal patina is original, even and warm, bearing witness to time without altering the reading of the piece. To note, discreet chips on two glass shelves, in no way altering the solidity or overall aesthetics, and perfectly consistent with the former use of this shop window.

Initially intended for boutique display - jewelry, leather goods or precious objects - this showcase now naturally finds its place in a contemporary interior, gallery or collector's space.
